Il Gelsomino features a horse ranch where you can ride maremmano horses and discover the traditional Maremma riding style.

Our grounds directly border the Maremma Regional Park, also known as the Uccellina Park, allowing riders to enter the park on horseback and explore its unique flora and fauna.

We offer rides of varying difficulty levels suitable for both experienced riders and beginners, as well as horseback trekking adventures that last two days or more.

CORE RIDES

The guided rides are available all year-round in the stunning Maremma Regional Park, catering to individuals aged from 14 to 75. The routes change with the seasons, offering a 2h ride for beginners at a price of 60 euros per person and a 4h ride experience for more experienced participants at 90 euros per person.

HORSEBACK TREKKING ADVENTURES

The horseback trekking vacations are aimed at experienced riders and take place in the Maremma region of Tuscany and/or Lazio.

MAREMMA WEEK-END

Experience an unforgettable weekend of horse riding in the stunning Maremma Regional Park. Over Saturday and Sunday, you will be guided by maremmano horses adorned with traditional saddles (“scafarda”). The farhouse will serve as your central hub, where you will return each day to enjoy typical local meals prepared with our own farm-fresh, zero-kilometre ingredients.

Trekking MONTE AMIATA

This journey takes us from the mountains to the sea, starting in Castell’Azzara on the southern slopes of the volcanic cone of Monte Amiata at around 800 metres above sea level, and culminating in Alberese, at the edge of the Maremma Regional Park. The route winds through olive groves, vineyards, and majestic hills, all accompanied by breathtaking landscapes.

Trekking MAREMMA TUSCANY & LATIUM

This journey begins in the Maremma Regional Park on the southern coast of Tuscany and takes us to the Archaeological Park of Vulci in Lazio, one of the most significant city-states of Etruria, where impressive remains are still accessible for horseback riding. The second part of the trek involves ascending towards Mount Amiata, passing by Lake Mezzano and reaching the village of Castell’Azzara, which is situated at an elevation of 800 metres above sea level.
